Evgeni Mikhailov è nato a Izhevsk (Russia) da una famiglia di musicisti. Dopo aver iniziato gli studi musicali nella sua città, entra nel Conservatorio di Stato di Kazan (classe della professoressa E.Bournasheva, 1991-1996), si è perfezionato al Conservatorio di Stato di Mosca con il professor M.Voskressensky (1996-1998). Dal settembre 1996 insegna al Conservatorio di Stato di Kazan e dal novembre 1997 solista presso la Società Filarmonica Statale di Mosca.
Concorsi: nel 1993 vince il nono concorso V.Safonov di Kislovodsk (Russia), nel 1995 il primo concorso pianistico internazionale A.Scriabin di Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), con il conferimento di tre premi speciali, tra i quali il Richter e il Sofronitsky; nel 1996 è la volta del primo peremio al concorso G.Eriksson (Svezia). Nel 1999 viene premiato al 21.mo "Pozzoli" di Seregno, per vincere nel 2002 il concorso S.Rachmaninoff a Los-Angeles (USA).
Dal 1995 ha dato molti concerti in Russia e all'estero, anche con orchestra.
Nel 1998 ha inciso due CD per la casa discografica russa "Melodiya".
Pianist Evgeni Mikhailov was born in the city of Izhevsk, Russia, into a family of musicians.
After graduating from the Music School and Music College in Izhevsk, he entered Kazan State Conservatoire (class of Professor
E.Bournasheva, 1991-1996), then took a post-graduate course at the Moscow State Conservatoire (class of Professor M.Voskressensky,
1996-1998). Since September 1996 Evgeni has been a teacher of Kazan State Conservatoire, and since November 1997 – a soloist of Moscow
State Philharmonic Society.
In 1993 Evgeni Mikhailov won the 9th V.Safonov All-Russian Piano Competition in Kislovodsk (Russia).
In 1995 he become the winner of the 1st A.Scriabin International Piano Competition in Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), and also the possessor of three special prizes, including the S.Richter's and V.Sofronitsky's prizes.
In 1996 E.Mikhailov become the winner of the 1st G.Eriksson International Piano Competition (Sweden).
In 1999 he become the laureate of the 21st International Piano Competition "E.Pozzoli" (Italy).
In 2002 he become the winner of the 1st S.Rachmaninoff International Piano Competition in Los-Angeles (USA).
Since 1995 Evgeni Mikhailov gave many concerts in Moscow, Saint-Petersbourg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Kislovodsk and many other
Russian cities. In June 1995 he was invited to play as soloist with Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin under the direction of
V.Ashkenazy in Berlin Philharmonic Hall performing the Concerto for Piano with Orchestra by A.Scriabin. In September 1995 he played
Scriabin's poem "Prometheus" together with Russian National Orchestra under the direction of M.Pletnev in Germany (at festival
"Berlin v Moskau") and Switzerland (at Luzern International music festival). He was invited to play also at Jonkoping
New Year International music festival (1996), Bergen International music festival (1999) and has successfully toured in Austria, France,
Italy, Sweden, USA, Mexico, South America etc.
During all this time Evgeni Mikhailov has prepared many programs, including the cycle of 10 Sonatas by A.Scriabin. In 1998 he recorded two CD with those sonatas at the Russian recording firm "Melodiya". He got wonderful reviews of his creative work in the Russian newspapers and magazines, and also in the foreign press v ''Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung'' (Germany), ''Los Angeles Times'' (USA), ''Kaertner Tageszeitung'' (Austria), ''Observer'' (Sweden), ''Sinfonica'' (Uruguay) etc.
