Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks e l'Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
The 1st prize of ARD International Music Competition 1993 in München has been
awarded only once in all categories and was the beginning of Anna Malikovas
international concert career. This prize is only very rarely awarded and the
media referred it to be a sensation, that the jury of ARD competition awarded
this important prize at all – which exept Anna Malikova no other pianist
received in the last 12 years. Earlier she had been finalist at all other
international competitions she took part in: at Oslo, Sydney, Warsaw (Chopin
competition).
Anna studied music at the conservatory of Tashkent with Tamara Popovich and at
the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moskau with Lev Naumov. Her concert activities
began in the 80ies in the former Soviet Union. Anna Malikova played recitals
and as soloist with orchestras in cities like Tashkent, St. Petersburg, Omsk,
Baku, Tbilissi and Moskau, to name only a few. Furthermore she taught herself
several years at Tchaikovsky Conservatory Moskau; only recently had she to give
up these duties because of internationally growing concerts engagements.
Since the early 90ies Anna Malikova plays among many other places at as
important festivals as Berliner Festwochen, Muziekfestival West-Brabant,
Braunschweiger Kammermusikpodium. She is constantly travelling in Europe, the
former Soviet Union and Asia. She is giving recitals as well as playing with
orchestras like the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw National Philharmonic,
Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphonieorchester des
Bayerischen Rundfunks, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, to name only a few.
Audiences as well as the international press are equally impressed by Anna
Malikovas performances. The Herald/Edinburgh reports about "a big, bright,
impassioned performance"; Weserkurier/Bremen writes about "simply a phenomenal
concert of highest possible musical and pianistic level"; the magazine Record
Geijutsu in Japan reviews her recording of both Chopin concertos: "...plays in
an exemplaric way authentic...", "...and her musical taste make this reording
very recommendable and pleasant to listen to..."
Anna Malikova's permanently growing concert duties are accompanied by an
exclusive recording contract with the italian label RS. Six CD have been
released so far: four Chopin CD with a recital, the integral of all studies and
préludes, the two concertos, the Schubert sonatas in a major and b flat major,
a CD with Liszt transcriptions of Schubert lieder. The next recording with

of the State Philharmony Cracow from Poland. She played also Chopin in a series
of concerts with Neue Philharmonie Westfalen under the baton of Johannes
Wildner. She has appeared as well in concerts at Tchaikovsky Hall Moscow, at
Sala Verdi in Milano, in France. In 1998 Anna Malikova played the cycles of all
studies and préludes by Chopin in concert, commemorating the 150th anniversary
of his death.
In june 1999 RS sold altogether 70.000 CD of Anna Malikova in Italy. Also in a
